SPECIAL EDUCATION LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT (SELS) July 19-22, 2026 Held in Washington, D.C., the Special Education Legislative Summit (SELS) is a powerful opportunity for educators nationwide to advocate for meaningful change with the Members of Congress. Join fellow educators and leaders in the field to deepen your understanding of advocacy, gain essential insights into federal policy, and share firsthand experiences about the realities of special education.
The Special Education Legislative Summit brings together approximately 300 national leaders in special education to elevate the voice of the field and advance policies that support students with disabilities. Hosted by the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) in partnership with the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), this premier advocacy event connects practitioners and policymakers to discuss critical issues impacting special education across the nation. Participants engage in timely policy briefings, collaborative strategy sessions, and meetings with federal legislators and/or staff to share insights from the field. The Summit equips attendees with the knowledge, tools, and unified messaging needed to effectively advocate for strong federal policies, appropriate funding, and improved outcomes for students with disabilities. Don't miss this chance to amplify your voice, influence policy decisions, and ensure equitable educational opportunities for all students.
