Reflection on My Journey with the CASE Special Education Leadership Institute (SELI)

Participating in the CASE Special Education Leadership Institute has been an incredibly positive and transformative experience for me both professionally and personally. Through SELI, I have been able to take the high-quality training I’ve received and immediately apply it to my own Special Education Training/Retreat, which was a great success. The strategies, resources, and leadership tools provided by SELI have equipped me to implement initiatives with confidence and purpose.

SELI has truly brought new life back into me not only as a Special Education Leader but also as a teacher. I feel more energized, inspired, and determined to make a meaningful impact. My goal is to be a leader who not only oversees programs, but who also mentors, trains, and works alongside teachers in the trenches, offering the guidance and support they need.

One of the most valuable takeaways from SELI has been learning how to bridge the gap between Special Education and General Education. With the training and guidance I’ve received, I have begun developing a strategic plan for implementing both RTI and MTSS in a way that fosters true collaboration between teams, ensuring that all students receive the support they deserve.

I am deeply grateful to SELI for this program and for all the knowledge I have acquired thus far. Although there are still several months left before the program concludes, I look forward to every upcoming training session with excitement and I can’t wait to see what new insights the next one will bring.

Thank you, SELI, for equipping me with the skills, vision, and renewed passion to lead with purpose.
