Exemplary Unit
This award identifies the State Unit that has not only demonstrated strong performance in the areas of Awards, Communication, Legislative, Membership, and Professional Development, but also demonstrates involvement in the promotion of CASE within its State Unit. There is a demonstrated pattern of support for CEC and CASE at the state and national levels. Legislative
This award identified the State Unit that has conducted legislative activity on the state and/or national level under the direction of a legislative chair or committee. There is strong evidence of meeting with the Governor, State Superintendent, Legislators, and other key leadership to successfully impact relevant legislation for the field of special education. Professional Development
This award identifies the State Unit where a chairperson or committee has developed and implemented a strategy to focus professional development on the needs of the unit.
